How We Support Responsible Play

Last updated: September 29, 2026

Pokies and live tables should stay entertainment, not a way to chase losses or fix money problems. Here is exactly how Primaplay helps Australian players keep control, and where to go if things stop feeling fun.

Age verification: 18+ only, no exceptions

Every Primaplay account is restricted to players aged 18 and over. During registration and again before larger withdrawals, we may ask for a copy of a driver's licence, passport or other government-issued ID to confirm your date of birth. This isn't optional paperwork, it's a hard gate. Accounts that fail age checks are closed and any deposits are returned. If you're setting up an account for a family member or on a shared device, make sure it's your own details on file, not someone under 18.

Deposit limits: decide your ceiling before you play

You can set a daily, weekly or monthly deposit cap on your Primaplay account from the account settings page. Once it's set, the system blocks further PayID, POLi, card or crypto deposits until the period resets, regardless of how you're feeling in the moment. This is the single most useful tool most players never bother to switch on until after a rough session. Turn it on before you need it.

  • Daily, weekly and monthly deposit limits, adjustable from your account dashboard
  • Lowering a limit takes effect immediately
  • Raising a limit involves a short cooling-off period before it applies, by design
  • Loss limits and session reminders can be requested through support

Timeouts and self-exclusion

If you need a break, you have two options. A timeout locks your account for a set period, typically 24 hours up to 30 days, and you'll be logged out automatically. Self-exclusion is longer and firmer: your account is suspended for a minimum period you choose, marketing emails and SMS stop, and reactivating early isn't possible even if you ask. Both options are free, confidential and can be requested through customer support without needing to explain the reason.

Warning signs worth taking seriously

Problem gambling rarely announces itself. It usually shows up as smaller signals that add up over weeks: chasing a loss with a bigger deposit, lying about how much time or money went into a session, using rent or bill money for pokies, feeling irritable when you try to stop, or gambling to escape stress rather than for fun. If two or three of these sound familiar, it's worth pausing and using one of the tools above, or reaching out for outside support.
